Vest with hand embroidery
These patterns where originally painted on wooden goods, such as chests, bowls and spoons, in the baroque. At that time Norway was a poor country, and the Norwegians did not have much material wealth. But the rosepainted artifacts were treated as the most valuable treasures. These treasures were well taken care of, and are kept so beautifully, they are still being passed on for generations.
The vest is knitted in a light 100% wool quality, and boiled to get this peculiar look. All embroideries are embroidered by hand after the boiling process.
The vest has a straight but feminine cut, and closes with lovely metal clasps.
